Meet our Sales Staff

Savannah grew up in the Portland area and came to us through a friend and fellow Portland Discovery employee. Her first job at age 16, she started as shy around new people but quickly got over that by talking to hundreds of people a day and telling them all about Portland and what not to miss while in town. She enjoys being outside in the beautiful Maine summers and hearing from visitors and families that a particular tour she recommended made their vacation more memorable. When off the clock, she’s working on crafts or off to Peaks Island with family and friends.

Miles grew up just north of Portland in Falmouth, and began working for Portland Discovery in high school. He now splits time between being a student a British Columbia University during the school year and as a member of our ticket staff in the summer. He loves the size and charm of Portland, meeting people from all over the world, and he’ll tell you that after 6 years working here, he still learns something new from our guides every day. Miles grew up around boats and when not on Long Wharf, can often be found on his sailboat exploring the islands of Casco Bay.

Born in Portland into a military family, Andy’s family lived in several other naval ports, and she was thrilled to be able to eventually return to the area. With a background in volunteer management, including at a Florida marine lab and aquarium, she can still be found around the water, now sharing her love of Portland with all of our visitors. Andy’s days off are spent collecting sea glass and creating jewelry from the glass.

Nick grew up just outside of Portland in the suburb of Scarborough and currently attends Waynflete Academy in the West End. He loves Portland because of the food, culture, and the quality of life not found in larger cities. You’ll find Nick at our ticket booth handing out brochures, assisting customers and answering any questions, and he enjoys the job because of the many great friendships he’s made over the years. When not on Long Wharf, he’s playing soccer, basketball and baseball or hanging out with friends and exploring the city.

Blake is a Portland native who enjoys the culture of Portland as well as the food. A self-proclaimed foodie, Blake claims he has been to almost every restaurant in Portland. He has once even worked as a cook. Before working with us he is a jack of all trades with working various kinds of job including being a professional video gamer. Blake works in our ticket sales where he enjoys working outside and with our customers visiting from around the world. He says that he jumped at opportunity to work with us because he loves informing and helping visitors with navigating around Portland.

Originally from Bethel, Maine, Helen moved to Portland for a new experience and for her education. Before working with us, Helen worked at her family’s business in Bethel at their Nordic skiing center. Helen works at our ticket booth sales where she enjoys working outside while being able to give visitors the opportunity to experience Portland and the state of Maine. On her time off work Helen explores Portland on her own or with her roommates enjoying what her new city has to offer. She is a proud Mainer that loves to help visitors enjoy their stay in Maine.

Courtney was born and raised in Portland before moving to Utica, New York to attend Utica College. After recently graduating with a degree in Communication Arts, she has joined us for the summer to work in our office and our ticket booth. Most of her free time she spends at Old Orchard Beach where she enjoys laying on the beach, swimming, or playing beach volleyball. Courtney enjoys working in downtown Portland because she likes to give recommendations to visitors to some of her favorite places around Portland.

As a lifelong New Englander, Peter resides in Portland because he says it offers the benefits of a large city with a small city feel. Peter also enjoys Portland’s wonderful food selection. He has always worked in a customer service setting including the publishing business and as a massage therapist. Peter works in our ticket booth as well as being one of our trolley drivers. Working on the waterfront and being able to help people are some of the reasons that Peter came to work with us. When he isn’t working on the waterfront he is enjoying nature by hiking or doing other outdoor activities.
